Depression in the morning,
manic by sundown.
The picture always changes,
so what remains the same?
If everyone is the sum
of their best and worst,
are we not all the same?
Maybe it’s trite and
maybe it’s platitude
to comment on
oneness and balance
like this,
but maybe it’s real,
maybe it’s true,
to treat sunrise
and sunset
like the same
sweet
kiss.

i love this insightful inversion of ideology, the upside down picture to supplement the point that no one only sees sunrise, only experiences the sunny, summer days. our experiences are a brigde of the same and the familiar. the only difference is our perspective 🙂 nice poem

Thank you so much for this thoughtful comment, and for your appreciation of my poem. I agree, and am slowly trying to shape my personal philosophy as such; perspective is everything.
