The one side says to the other,
“Who are you kidding?
You’ve fooled them all.”
(You feel a loss of spontaneity,
a sudden fall.)
“Positive feedback belies
the reality of your falsehood.
Throw up your hands,
you did all that you could.”
And so the other replies,
with a smile, knowing,
“There are no sides, my friend,
and it’s not about confidence.
It’s about going on lightly
through whatever circumstance.”
(You keep going.)
